This piece was painted from reference photos I took in western Nebraska. We were so fortunate that our timing was perfect for sunset at Chimney Rock. It was breathtaking to be out on the dirt roads all alone - a gentle breeze blowing across the grasses and sunflowers. I can only imagine what it was like for the pioneers who passed this way to experience this incredible landscape.
