I have been juried into the Estes Park Plein Air Competition which will be held from mid August through September. Participating artists will paint within a 50 mile radius of Estes Park from August 15th through 28th. Works created during this period will be displayed and available for purchase from August 29th through September at the Cultural Arts Council of Estes Park Fine Art Gallery. I am thrilled that my painting, Laguna Cliffs II (above), has been accepted into the prestigious Oil Painters of America Western Regional Juried Exhibition. The exhibit will be held at Howard Mandville Gallery in Kirkland, Washington (near Seattle) from August 6th through 30th.

Five of my paintings have been juried into the Plein Air Artists Colorado Juried Exhibition which will be held from July 10th to 25th at Abend Gallery, in Denver, Colorado. I have been juried in to the Carmel Art Festival again this year and will be competing in the Plein Air Painting Competition. Carmel is one of my favorite places to paint and I'm thrilled to be able to return for a second year in this event!

My painting, "Laguna Cliffs II", has been accepted into the prestigious Salon International 2009 Juried Exhibition, which will be held at Greenhouse Gallery in San Antonio, Texas from April 11th through May 1st. This is the second year in a row that I have had a painting accepted into this exhibition! The reception will be held on April 11th. I will have five paintings included in the "Natural World Observed 2008" National Landscape Exhibition which will be held at Adam Whitney Gallery in Omaha, Nebraska. This exhibition will feature the work of nineteen nationally recognized artists who are signature members of the National Academy of Professional Plein Air Painters (NAPPAP). The reception will be held on Saturday, November 22nd, 2008, from 6 to 8pm, at the gallery, located at 8725 Shamrock Rd., in Countryside Village Shopping Center in Omaha. Exhibit catalogs are available in soft or hard cover through the NAPPAP website, www.nappap.org, where you can view an online preview of the catalog. My painting, "Cliff Shadows", has been accepted into the 9th Annual American Impressionist Society National Juried Exhibition which will be held from November 22 through December 22, 2008, at the Coda Gallery, in Palm Desert, California. The opening reception and awards presentation will be held on November 22nd, from 5 to 7pm, at the gallery, located at 73151 El Paseo, in Palm Desert. Gallery hours are Monday through Saturday, 9am to 6pm, and Sunday, 10am to 5pm.

This is an exhibition of 100 paintings by 63 artists from a plein air painting event at Kansas University last April. The exhibit was a collaboration between SouthWind Gallery and the KU Alumni Association. A full color book featuring many of the paintings is available for purchase through the gallery. This is the third exhibition of the 2008-2010 "Far and Near Horizons: A World Tour of Contemporary Landscape Artists." The tour is a collaboration between International Plein Air Painters and Landscape Artists International, and will exist simultaneously on the internet and in brick and mortar venues.
